How to assign a Security Profile to a User?

Updated October 26, 2026

Note

Before you begin

The Security Profile you want to assign must already exist. If you haven't created it yet, see How to create a Security Profile.

A Security Profile can be assigned to a user in two ways: at the time of invitation, or after the user has already been added to the Workarea.

Option 1: Assign at invite time#

This is the recommended approach. Assigning a profile during the invitation ensures the user has the correct access from their first login.

Step 1: Navigate to Users#

Go to AI Orchestrator → Users & Security → Users.

Users list

Step 2: Add a new user#

Click the + button to open the Add User form. Enter the email address of the user you want to invite.

  • If the email is not yet registered in ARPIA, the form will show fields for Full Name, Phone, Language, Security Profile, and Login method (Password, Google, or Microsoft).
  • If the email already exists in ARPIA (the user belongs to another Workarea), the platform will detect this and switch to an invite flow showing the user's existing account details.

Step 3: Select the Security Profile#

In the Security Profile dropdown, select the profile you want to assign to this user. The dropdown lists all active profiles in the Workarea.

Step 4: Complete the invitation#

Click Create (for new users) or Invite (for existing ARPIA users) to send the invitation. The user will appear in the Users list under their assigned profile group.

Note

If you skip the Security Profile selection at invite time, the user's permissions will need to be set post-invite before they can access any platform resources.

Option 2: Reassign after invite#

Use this flow to change a user's Security Profile after they have already been added to the Workarea.

Step 1: Navigate to Users#

Go to AI Orchestrator → Users & Security → Users. The list is grouped by Security Profile — locate the user you want to update.

Step 2: Open the user record#

Click on the user's row to open their profile.

Step 3: Change the Security Profile#

In the user's profile view, locate the Security Profile field and select the new profile from the dropdown. Click Save.

The change takes effect immediately. The user will be moved to the new profile group in the Users list, and their access will reflect the new profile's permissions on their next action.
